Our mentoring programmes are the culmination of 25 years’ experience of working with hard-to-reach young people across a range of settings.

The Challenging Me Mentoring programme is the culmination of 25 years’ experience of working with hard-to-reach young people across a range of settings. The 12-step programme focuses on working with young people to improve their emotional and psychological wellbeing and empower them to make the changes they want to see in their own lives. Our mentors aim to inspire all the young people they work with, supporting them to build resilience, self-discipline, self-esteem and self-respect, as well as increase their independence and help them develop consideration and respect for others.

Educational settings might close for the summer, but we know the mental health challenges faced by some young people don’t stop then. In fact, we know that school routines and structure are huge factors in helping to promote wellbeing and a sense of security. So when schools close, many young people need more support, not less. We have developed the Summer Mentoring Programme to fill this gap in support services. We capitalise on the freedom of the school holidays to deliver our 12-step mentoring programme in a way that provides structure, fun and personal development within a safe environment.

We have seen first-hand how many families and young people are struggling through no fault of their own. Substance misuse, domestic violence, criminality and criminal or sexual exploitation can all have untold consequences on families and the individuals within them.
